Angler Helps Students Learn About Trout

There is an article in the Santa Fe New Mexican today about John Wright of the Truchas Chapter, and his efforts to educate youth on the biological, ecological and recreational value of trout and New Mexico’s streams.  Check it out.

The Red River Restoration Group (R3G) is holding a public information session and comment writing workshop today and tomorrow for those interested in submitting comments on the EPA’s proposed plan for cleanup at the Molycorp mine in Questa New Mexico.

San Juan River Issues

Over the last few weeks, some very serious and completely untrue allegations have been leveled at Trout Unlimited here in New Mexico regarding the San Juan and New Mexico House Bill 51, which failed in the New Mexico Legislature last month after it ran out of time in the short legislative session.

Youth Education in NM Takes Off!

Largely due to the efforts of John Wright and several members of the Truchas Chapter, youth education is growing throughout the state.   Teaching kids about trout and river ecosystems is helping to build the next generation of stewards for our New Mexico streams.
The Truchas Chapter Youth Education Program has been working with classrooms in the state to teach kids about the biology of trout and the ecosystems they live in.  There are several classrooms that have participated in the Trout in the Classroom program, where the kids receive a batch …
