The New Mexico Council need as much help as it can get from our members. While we are lean and mean, and working on many issues in New Mexico, we just do not have either the capacity or the financial backing to handle everything very well.

In most states, the council receives considerable financial support from the chapters in the state, but we just do not have enough chapters to provide the kind of support we require. New Mexico is a large state, and just traveling around the state takes money.  Bill, Jason and Kevin are volunteers and end up spending considerable money of their own every year just to stay on top of some of these issues.

We need to find people interested in starting chapters in Albuquerque and in the south. There are currently tremendous opportunities to do work on Gila trout that we just cannot handle right now. And there is likely grant money that we don’t have the time to go after.

We also would welcome your financial support. We barely have enough money to put out more than a couple newsletters a year, and little to allocate towards travel.
